The spouse of the President of Armenia Nouneh Sarkissian, who is in the UAE on official visit together with the President, in Abu Dhabi met with the UAE Minister of State Reem Al Hashimi.
Mrs. Sarkissian expressed gratitude for the warm reception.
The spouse of the President of Armenia and the State Minister spoke about cooperation of the two states in the cultural and educational areas.
Noting that in Armenia and everywhere in the world, Armenians pay great attention to the preservation of the national traditions, cultural and historical heritage, Mrs. Sarkissian spoke about the history and activities of the Matenadaran – the Institute-Museum of Ancient Manuscripts. She informed that the Museum is a depository to thousands of manuscripts, including Arab and Islamic ones.
Noting that days ago she visited the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, where they were demonstrated works on the restoration of ancient manuscripts, Nouneh Sarkissian underlined that Armenia has great experience in this area. She invited specialists from the UAE to visit Armenia and learn firsthand about the experience of the Armenian side and cooperate with the Armenian experts.
The UAE Minister of State Reem Al Hashimi in her turn noted that she was well-aware of Mrs. Sarkissian’s activities. Considering the fact, that the spouse of the President of Armenia also writes books for children, Minister of State invited Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian to participated as a guest of honor at the Dubai Book Fair which will take place in March.
Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian invited Minister of State Reem Al Hashimi to visit Armenia, to familiarize with the Armenian culture and to deepen the Armenian-UAE scientific and educational ties.
